Request for Proposal – Fund Raising Professional
Ribs & Renaissance (Working Title) festival – April 2013
The Eau Claire Community Council (ECCC), a Columbia, SC 501©(3) non
profit organization committed to building and strengthening neighborhood
organizations in Eau Claire and North Columbia, invites qualified and experienced
individuals or agencies to submit competitive bids to provide fund raising
services for the 2013 Ribs & Renaissance Festival (working title) to be held April
2013 in North Columbia, SC.

The day-long event reflects the cultural and community flavors of North Columbia
which includes visual and performing arts; cultural, educational and commercial
exhibits; activities for children; games and contests; exhibitions and other
activities that enhance the image of Eau Claire and North Columbia as a great
place to live, work, study and visit. We expect the event to attract between 6,000
– 10,000 people throughout the day.
I. Requirements
The successful person or agency must have a proven track record of fund raising
and securing sponsorships for the event to supplement Hospitality Tax funds
obtained by the ECCC to support the event.
The fund-raising professional will be tasked with raising additional funds of
$20,000. In addition, the successful candidate will seek in-kind donations of door
prizes, tickets, food (for Green Room and VIP guests), and other items to enhance
the event. Items that can be auctioned prior to and awarded at the event
would also be appropriate in-kind offerings.
All proceeds from the event support community development, education, training,
and social programs of the Eau Claire Community Council. The 2012 Annual
Report of Council activities will be available on August 31, 2012
The Eau Claire Community Council will provide and/or make available:
Administrative services (postage, office and meeting space, FAX, Internet
access, etc.)
Support information regarding past events
Contact information for previous donors
Suggested contacts for future giving
A final report from the Fund Raising Professional will be required for grant
reporting by April 30, 2013.

II. Conditions
1. The Eau Claire Community Council, its Board of Directors and its Executive Director will at all times maintain
ownership of the festival. Final approval of all activities and expenses will be made by the ECCC.
2. Payment for services will be on a commission basis of 15% for all monetary funds raised.
3. A bonus of $2,000 will be awarded for funds raised from $25,000-$29,999; $3,000 for funds raised over
$30,000. Total amount raised to qualify for bonuses may include a portion of in-kind services and/or donations
of goods and products.
4. Compensation will be made October 31, 2012; December 31, 2012; February 28, 2013; and April 30, 2013
