Request for Proposal – Fund Raising Professional<br />

Ribs & Renaissance (Working Title) festival – April 2013<br />

The <strong>Eau</strong> <strong>Claire</strong> <strong>Community</strong> <strong>Council</strong> (<strong>ECCC</strong>), a Columbia, SC 501©(3) non<br />

profit organization committed to building and strengthening neighborhood<br />

organizations in <strong>Eau</strong> <strong>Claire</strong> and North Columbia, invites qualified and experienced<br />

individuals or agencies to submit competitive bids to provide fund raising<br />

services for the 2013 Ribs & Renaissance Festival (working title) to be held April<br />

2013 in North Columbia, SC.<br />

The day-long event reflects the cultural and community flavors of North Columbia<br />

which includes visual and performing arts; cultural, educational and commercial<br />

exhibits; activities for children; games and contests; exhibitions and other<br />

activities that enhance the image of <strong>Eau</strong> <strong>Claire</strong> and North Columbia as a great<br />

place to live, work, study and visit. We expect the event to attract between 6,000<br />

– 10,000 people throughout the day.<br />

I. Requirements<br />

The successful person or agency must have a proven track record of fund raising<br />

and securing sponsorships for the event to supplement Hospitality Tax funds<br />

obtained by the <strong>ECCC</strong> to support the event.<br />

The fund-raising professional will be tasked with raising additional funds of<br />

$20,000. In addition, the successful candidate will seek in-kind donations of door<br />

prizes, tickets, food (for Green Room and VIP guests), and other items to enhance<br />

the event. Items that can be auctioned prior to and awarded at the event<br />

would also be appropriate in-kind offerings.<br />

All proceeds from the event support community development, education, training,<br />

and social programs of the <strong>Eau</strong> <strong>Claire</strong> <strong>Community</strong> <strong>Council</strong>. The 2012 Annual<br />

Report of <strong>Council</strong> activities will be available on August 31, 2012<br />

The <strong>Eau</strong> <strong>Claire</strong> <strong>Community</strong> <strong>Council</strong> will provide and/or make available:<br />

Administrative services (postage, office and meeting space, FAX, Internet<br />

access, etc.)<br />

Support information regarding past events<br />

Contact information for previous donors<br />

Suggested contacts for future giving<br />

A final report from the Fund Raising Professional will be required for grant<br />

reporting by April 30, 2013.


II. Conditions<br />

1. The <strong>Eau</strong> <strong>Claire</strong> <strong>Community</strong> <strong>Council</strong>, its Board of Directors and its Executive Director will at all times maintain<br />

ownership of the festival. Final approval of all activities and expenses will be made by the <strong>ECCC</strong>.<br />

2. Payment for services will be on a commission basis of 15% for all monetary funds raised.<br />

3. A bonus of $2,000 will be awarded for funds raised from $25,000-$29,999; $3,000 for funds raised over<br />

$30,000. Total amount raised to qualify for bonuses may include a portion of in-kind services and/or donations<br />

of goods and products.<br />

4. Compensation will be made October 31, 2012; December 31, 2012; February 28, 2013; and April 30, 2013<br />
