The LPY/LPZ boom is a light threedimensional
lattice design of box section
which optimizes weight and with
greatest possible strength. The boom is
designed as a semi-heavy-duty boom
for the category of large farms, highinput
crop industries and contractors.

The folding area between the
intermediate boom sections and
outer boom sections is mechanically
locked by means of an overcentre
locking mechanism.
This prevents horizontal movements
between the individual
boom sections resulting in increased
spray quality.
An anti-yaw device is incorporated into
the centre section to damp the horizontal
back and forth movements of the boom
wings. The main folding cylinders are
equipped with synthetic buffers to absorb
the stress which can arise during start
and stop as well as during changes in
driving speed.

The centre section with coil
spring pendulum suspension, the
hydraulic activated pendulum
lock, the two telescopic dampers
which absorb sudden movements
coming from the tractor / trailer.
There is a total of 4 guide rods, two upper
and two lower. The two lower guide rods
can be set in three positions to optimize
boom levelling depending on the contour
of the fields.
The transport brackets are fully adjustable at
front and rear to provide a boom transport
height that suits the tractor, entrance into machine
shed etc. The front transport brackets can
pivot allowing best possible boom support and
safety for road transport.

Hydraulic slanting of the boom is standard
on LPZ models and option on LPY. The pendulum
suspension is still maintained when activating
the hydraulic slanting.
The LPY is equipped with two heavy-duty steel
wires with the possibility of easy adjustment
when needed. The wire to the front carries the
boom when it is in spraying position and the
wire to the rear lifts the boom up to transport
position.
The hydraulic valves
on LPY consist of a
throttle valve for adjusting
folding speed,
pilot check valve to
prevent pressure loss
in the hydraulic system.
Individual boom tilt for precise nozzle
distance to target, an important feature when
spraying in hilly country.
The Direct Activated Hydraulic
system means that the oil is continually circulating.
The system can be adapted for either open
or closed centre hydraulics.
The main advantage
of this system
is that all boom adjustments
are instantly
achieved at the “flick of
a switch”.
The LPZ boom requires a double-acting hydraulic
connection for boom
control. The boom control
features folding and unfolding
of intermediate sections,
individual outer wing folding,
slanting of the whole boom,
individual boom tilt and
boom height adjustment.

The heart of the sprayer”
The HARDI diaphragm pumps are designed for
the application of plant protection chemicals and
liquid fertilizer. Principle of the HARDI diaphragm
pump: the diaphragm separates the
liquid from the vital parts of the pump crankshaft
and bearings. This keeps wear to a minimum.
The HARDI diaphragm
pumps are:
• self priming
• able to run dry without damage
• easy to service
• grease lubricated (dry crankcase)
• fitted with chemical resistant dia
phragms and valves
• able to rotate clockwise or anti-clockwise
Easy access to the diaphragm pump.
The pump is situated at the rear of the frame for
easy service and maintenance.
The filtration system is a
3-step process. 1 st filter
is the topmounted tank
suction filter.
2 nd filter is the Self-
Cleaning Filter which is
efficient at low as well as
high volume applications.
The Self-Cleaning Filter
is as standard fitted with
80 mesh screen. 50 and
100 mesh screens are
available.
As an option, In-Line
Filters are available.
3 rd step is the nozzle
filters. With these filters
the total filtration process
is completed. '

HARDI supplies a full range of high quality nozzles
for agricultural purposes.
The range comprises
110° Flat fan nozzles,
LowDrift nozzles, INJET
air inclusion nozzles, as
well as 3-hole nozzles and
foam nozzles for liquid
fertilizers.
These are all readily
mountable with the SNAP-FIT system on
TRIPLET and QUADRILET nozzle holders with
built-in non-drip diaphragm check valves and
shut-off position to go with both polyethylene
and stainless steel spray lines.

The slimline tank profile optimizes weight distribution
and tractor stability whilst spraying and
during road transport.
Non slip ladder and platforms gives safe access
to tank lid and top mounted suction filtre.
HARDI polyethylene tanks are:
• blow-moulded • knock-proof
• easy to clean • chemical resistant and
• with deep sump U.V. stabilized
A strong weather and chemical resistant polyester
coating of frame and boom ensures good
protection of the steel parts. All bolts and nuts
are specially treated to prevent corrosion.Easy

The rinsing water
can be connected to
a Tank Flushing

Automatic coupling and support legs
The MEGA sprayers are standard with
a Semi-Automatic coupling which makes connection
of the tractor’s lower links to the sprayer
fast and easy.
Retractable support legs park the
sprayer safely on the ground and give good
ground clearance when folded up.

Electric remote control
of HARDI MANIFOLD SYSTEM. From
inside the cabin the sprayer operator can
change from one function to another at the
flick of a switch. Can be utilized for
changing over from main tank to rinsing
tank from operating unit to tank flushing
nozzle, etc.
