Tuesday 26th March, 2013 Midweek Herald 7 Students design earplugs for the world THANKS to an innovative real-life project, products designed by students at Warwickshire College could soon be hitting the shelves at stores across the world. Malcolm Boothman, the international director of sales and marketing at Cirrus Healthcare Products, asked the 3D design students at the college’s Trident Centre, in Warwick, to design a set of earplugs, suitable for use at festivals and concerts, that would appeal to young people. After receiving the brief, the students researched and developed their designs. Malcolm was so pleased with the eventual designs that he created three winners rather than the initial one. They were Luca Frondella, aged 17, from Leamington, Kai Triassi, aged 16, from Stratford, and Chris Gould, aged 18, from Rugby.
