Register online today at www.stpsports.com. 5 July 22, 2012 ROSARY FOR THE USA In the May 18th issue of the St. Louis Review, there was an article about a Catholic from Phoenix, Arizona who was deeply concerned about the United States. While praying the rosary, he realized that the 50 Hail Mary prayers could be said for our 50 States. He designated the first three decades as prayers intended for the Legislative, Executive, and Judicial Branches of our government. The fourth is dedicated to state and local government as well as police and firefighters. The fifth decade is devoted to the U.S. military personnel. Please join your fellow parishioners every Sunday at 4:45 (except holidays) in front of Mary’s statue to say the Rosary for our country and our populace. The Gathering Area is available if the weather is not favorable. REMINDER: BACKPACKS ARE DUE MONDAY JULY 23RD!! Thank you for taking a backpack & supply tag from the gathering space over the past few weeks for children serviced by St. Patrick’s Center. PATRICK CENTER FOR THE HOMELESS Thank you to all who faithfully donate to the St. Patrick Mobile Outreach Program. In June our generous parishioners donated nearly 300 individual snacks and drinks to the program!! In addition, we were able to donate 100 toothbrushes and toothpaste to the program. The ultimate goal of the Mobile Outreach Program is to encourage persons who are chronically homeless to access agency programs that will lead them to permanent housing and financial stability. In Fiscal Year 2011, two full-time counselors developed trusting relationships with 163 people living on the streets and provided mental health, psychiatric, employment and financial guidance services to 60 clients. Please keep this important ministry in mind on your next shopping trip. Breakfast bars, granola type bars, chips, cookies, water, and soda are some of the suggested donations. The Health Department requires that all food items come prepackaged. Donations are accepted everyday at 450 Burns Avenue, Kirkwood. A green tub will be located on our front porch the first week of the month and will be placed on the side of our house the rest of the month. Call Jennifer Moritz 909-6756 with any questions.
