Professional Conferences and Meetings<br />
The <strong>University</strong> encourages professional growth and attendance at professional meetings.<br />
Attendance must be approved in advance by the appropriate supervisor. Employees may<br />
be reimbursed the reasonable costs of such attendance if funds are available, and at the<br />
sole discretion of the <strong>University</strong>. Registration fees can be processed and paid in advance<br />
through the Business Office. Receipts for travel, lodging and meals may be reimbursed<br />
when submitted in accordance with Business Office guidelines.<br />
Dining Room<br />
Staff and Faculty are entitled to obtain meals at the discounted employee rate in the<br />
<strong>University</strong> Dining Room and other MU hosted dining areas. To be eligible for the<br />
discount,each employee must present their official <strong>Marymount</strong> ID Card. On-site eating<br />
arrangements are not only for the convenience of employees, but also for other individual<br />
who aren’t a part of the MU community but whose duties require that they remain on<br />
campus during meal breaks.<br />
On-Campus Banking<br />
<strong>Marymount</strong> <strong>University</strong> has an affiliation agreement with PNC Bank. An automatic teller<br />
machine (ATM) is provided on the Main Campus through this affiliation agreement. The<br />
<strong>University</strong> also has an affiliation with Arlington Federal Credit Union.<br />
Direct Deposit<br />
Employees are encouraged to use direct deposit. Direct deposit allows automatic<br />
transfer of funds from the <strong>University</strong> into an employee’s checking or savings account.<br />
Authorization forms are available in the Office of Human Resource Services. Newly<br />
established direct deposits may take two to three pay cycles to become active.<br />
Lifeworks: Employee Assistance Program<br />
<strong>Marymount</strong> provides employees with an Employee Assistance Program (i.e., an<br />
information and referral service) that can assist with solving personal problems, both<br />
on and off the job. Communications between employees, supervisors, or the Office of<br />
Human Resource Services, and the Employee Assistance provider will be confidential<br />
except to the degree required to protect the safety of an employee or others or to protect<br />
the security of the <strong>University</strong>. For more information, please contact the Office of Human<br />
Resource Services or go to the Lifeworks website: www.Lifeworks.com. Lifeworks also<br />
provides 24 hours/365 days counseling services at 888-267-8126. These services are<br />
provided to all employees at no cost.<br />
