The thermal conductivity of a material decreases as temperatures increase.
The alloying of pure metals also decreases a materials thermal conductivity.
Generally, a material that has had substantial alloying elements added would
have a lower thermal conductivity and lower heat inputs are required to raise
the material to a desired temperature.
More alloy → Lower Conductivity therefore less heat input to melt alloy steel
