Clarence P. Buford of the McAlester prison
said Samet was sent to the hospital pending
an operation on his arm, shattered during
the city gunfight. He was serving a life
term for the Warner job.

California. Jim is MGM head booker here.
Carl Weaver jr., an overseas veteran and
former theatre manager in Tonkawa, will
manage the new Odom Drive-In. The new
1,000-car drive-in is expected to open between
July 1 and 5. R. Lewis Barton, owner
of the Home. Knob Hill, Redskin and Skytrain,
is building the Odom. Weaver is the
son of C. H. "Buck" Weaver, manager for
Paramount here.
"The Yearling" was held Wednesday (25)
for a second week at the Midwest . . . Jack
Swigert, formerly with the Standard and
C&R circuits here, is now a salesman with
PRC and E-L . new employe with
PRC and E-L is Jack Talbot, a shipper, who
just recently was discharged from air corps
duty.
When a business woman's sorority held its
national convention here, a beauty contest
was staged with Rod Cameron of the films
and Gene Hudgens of the Home Theatre as
two of the judges. Cameron, western player,
delayed his departure another few days. He
is still wearing a cast, but a smaller one, on
the shoulder that was injured when he
tumbled from a Shetland pony during the
Woodward-Leedey tornado benefit rodeo. He
was to spend several days on an Oklahoma
ranch before he returned to the Pacific
coast.

Flans are under way to bring the world premiere
of "The Red Stallion." an Eagle-Lion
film, to Oklahoma City. The picture about
Oklahoma was filmed in California . . . The
Ed Kidwell family is back from a fishing
hohday to Colorado. He is general manager
of the C&R Theatres here ... Pat McOee
of Denver arrived Wednesday i2oi on a routine
business trip . . . "Perils of Pauline" wm
to open at the Criterion with a midnight
show Saturday i28i . . . The Criterion held
a sneak preview of "Dear Ruth" Friday
night
National Screen Service is erecting a new
building on Filmrow. The one-story brick
structure is being built to accommodate a
trailer service, according to G. C. Clark, manager.
Workmen started this week excavating
the lot at 624 West Grand.
W. T. Kerr of the Piatt in Sulphur is having
new Motiograph AA projection and Mirrophonic
sound equipment installed in his
house by the W. R. Howell Supply Co. . .

Doak Roberts, district manager for Warner,
Dallas, was a recent visitor . . . Juanita
Rohde. head cashier at the Warner exchange,
is on her vacation.
