United Film Salesmen Meet in Kansas City KANSAS CITY—Representatives of the United Film Service, Inc., in all sections of the nation attended a two-day sales convention last Wednesday and TliiU'sday (4, 5) at the Continental hotel here to discuss selling problems and to preview new Screen Broadcasts films produced by the company. W. Hardy Hendren, president of the company and chairman of the program committee, conducted the various sessions. Pi-eceding the official sessions, division and district managers gathered for a business meeting Monday. General registration for the convention opened Tuesday morning at the Continental hotel, where separate meetings of salesmen with their division and district managers also were held. SPEAKERS OF NOTE Mayor William E. Kemp gave an address of welcome at the initial session.. In addition to Hendren, speakers heard during the Wednesday sessions included R. T. Klemme, economist for the Federal Reserve bank of Kansas City: Dale H. Danielson, Kansas- Missoui-i Theatre Ass'n president; O. F. Sullivan, Kansas-Missouri Allied president; Cai-i J. Mabry, head of the Motion Picture Advertising Service Co., New Orleans; J. D. Braunagel, Commonwealth Theatres drive-in department manager, and W. D. Zeiger, sales manager; Reese H. Wade, production manager, and W. J. Scroggin, service manager, all of United Film Service. In addition to Walker Saussy, president of the Walker Saussy Advertising Co., speakers during the Thursday sessions included E. S. Washbm-n, vice-president; A. F. Bradley, treasurer, and L. P. Hillyer, advertising and sales promotion manager, all of the United Film Service. A banquet Thursday night at the Continental hotel officially ended the convention.
