Caedo, head of the Caedo Engineering Co., who handles air conditioning units of the United States Air Conditioning Corp. Caedo predicts that "1950 should see the biggest air conditioning boom in the history of the islands." With average temperatures of 78 degrees in winter and 84 degrees in summer and occasional rises to 100 degrees, theatre owners are the first to realize the need for air cooling. Caedo reports 15 theatre installations in Manila at the present time. Of these, five are reconditioned prewar installations. Candy Dollar Combined results of a survey among leading candy manufacturers and Department of Commerce statistics as analyzed by the Council on Candy of the National Confectioners' Ass'n, show the candy consumer is getting increasing value for his money these days. The study indicates that, compared to a year ago, quantity and quality have improved.
