Having a history of valuable roles in the school's athletic life, Lucy has
been an appreciated member for both Barrett house and PE department.
highly valued and do not go unnoticed. Despite having had a history of
poor punctuality, the turn around of effort, determination and
perseverance has already shown fantastic results, setting an inspirational
example to the rest of the form, and also proving to herself that a little
difference can go a long way
11B
Mana Kimura-
Anderson
Mana is a motivational and very caring member of the form, and having
been a dedicated and respected form captain last year, still contributes
of the Yearbook Committee, Chamber Choir and Dance Company, as well
as attending the junior department of the Royal Academy of Music every
Saturday. Every week, she also coaches young chamber music groups
where she is looked up to and has to be relied upon. Balancing her busy
curricular life, she has also already completed two extra GCSEs,
home, St Anne’s. As the project manager of her Challenge team she
organized a sponsored walk across ten bridges over the Thames, dressed
as the elderly and spray painted our hair white to raise awareness for the
elderly home. She also helped organize a letter writing campaign aimed at
13 - 18 year olds to teach them the necessary skills to communicate their
ideas effectively in a formal letter to their local MP rather than through
rioting and other forms of anti social behaviour. In school she is always
11N
April-Rae
Hughes
Amelia (Millie)
Kent
Clara
Collingwood
April has contributed to this school a considerable amount. Her devotion to
Dance Company and other dancing clubs is inspiring not only to 11N but
to many girls in year 7. As student of the month April is a very popular in
N as her hard work results in house points and many praises, this makes
her popular with her teachers also. April's attitude towards house
competitions and charity fundraising is positive, she is always one of the
first to volunteer herself to run, play bench ball and take part in the house
quiz. Our form love having April in our form as she is always enthusiastic
and excited for school events. She also manages to make everyone smile
in the morning which is a big achievement.
We nominate Millie for her dedication to her academic studies, as known
by her achievement in chemistry as chemist of the week, and her
enthusiasm for school activities. We also nominate her for her dedication
to fundraising for her trip to Nepal which the potential prize money could
help with. It would help towards the fundraising for the trip and for her
group. Millie deserves a Jack Petchy award for her overall outstanding
achievements ranging from Duke of Edinburgh to leading our form last
year as form captain. The prize money would also help the children of
Nepal get an education as Millie would build them a school on her trip.
Millie has been an amazing contributor to the school as from year 7 on
wards she's been gifted and talented. She's not only dedicated to the
uses her positive attitude to motivate the form and keep us all together.
which our form finds endearing. She is also insightful, everytime a peer
has a conversation with her it is a fact they will go away learning
something new.Clara is also really keen on helping with charities and is
always full with new ideas. A Jack Petchy award would mean alot to Clara
and will excel her in any exciting career we are all sure she will have. Clara
Collingwood is a name to watch out for in the future.
12NV Olivia Hinds For her amazing work in the Rocky Horror Show. She didn't get to take
part in the acting and had a very difficult job of controlling the lighting
which took a lot of time and effort and concentration. Considering the fact
that she had to teach herself how to do the lighting and sacrifice her spare
time for the technical rehearsal we think she deserves to be nominated.
The Year 11 January mock exam week commences straight after the
Christmas holidays, on
Wednesday 4 th January and ends on Tuesday 10 th January 2012.
Students must attend all exams in correct uniform or kit for exams.
Exams will begin promptly at 08:30, 10:50 and 13:30 and students must
be ready to line up outside the Blandford Street Hall (first floor)
at least 15 minutes before the start time of the exam.
• Students are responsible for bringing the correct equipment for exams and are advised to
check what they need in advance with their subject teachers.
• They will also be expected to wear the correct school uniform at all times when they are on site
and in exams.
• Items such as mobile phones etc are not allowed in the exam hall.
• Any misbehaviour in mock exams is treated very seriously and may result in an internal
exclusion.
• Coats and bags will be left in the changing rooms at the owners’ risk.
• Despite all reasonable precautions there is still the risk of theft so it is strongly advised that any
valuables be left at home.

Your daughter should check her school email account for a copy of the January
mock exam revision pack. The document is called Subject Information to Revise
for January Mocks and it details the content students need to revise for all GCSE
subjects and directs them to resources they can use to aid their study.
The Christmas holidays provide students with an excellent opportunity to prepare for
the written exams as well as a chance to recuperate before the start of the new
term. All students should have drawn up revision timetables. If they need any
support at this time, then they should approach form tutors or myself.
