Idella was born on November 9, 1926, in Artas, SD<br />

a daughter of Edwin <strong>and</strong> Bertha (Orth) Kusler. The<br />

family moved to a farm south of Plevna, MT when<br />

Idella was three. <strong>He</strong>r fa<strong>the</strong>r passed away when she was<br />

eight <strong>and</strong> her mo<strong>the</strong>r moved <strong>the</strong>m into Plevna where<br />

Idella attended school. Idella graduated as Salutatorian<br />

of <strong>the</strong> Plevna High School Class of 1944. On October<br />

6, 1946, Idella married Edmund Freier, <strong>and</strong> to this<br />

union three sons, Wayne, Jerry <strong>and</strong> Kelly were born.<br />

Idella <strong>and</strong> Edmund farmed west of Baker until 1958,<br />

when <strong>the</strong>y moved into Baker. Idella worked at <strong>the</strong><br />

Montana Bank of Baker for 18 years. After Edmunds<br />

death in 1976, Idella married Lynn Holm in Plevna on<br />

October 14, 1978. All of Lynn’s family except Jason, a<br />

three year old son had perished in an auto accident. At<br />

50 years old, Idella began to raise her 4th son. Lynn<br />

<strong>and</strong> Idella pastored <strong>the</strong> Marmarth Bible Church <strong>and</strong><br />

in 1989, moved to Big Timber, MT to pastor <strong>the</strong><br />

Evangelical Free Church. Idella was very active in<br />

<strong>the</strong>ir ministry, playing piano, teaching Sunday school<br />

<strong>and</strong> being <strong>the</strong> “Gr<strong>and</strong>mo<strong>the</strong>r” to all of <strong>the</strong> young kids<br />

in Church. She was a wonderful wife, mo<strong>the</strong>r, sister,<br />

gr<strong>and</strong>mo<strong>the</strong>r, great-gr<strong>and</strong>mo<strong>the</strong>r <strong>and</strong> friend to all. <strong>He</strong>r<br />

son’s say that in all <strong>the</strong> years <strong>the</strong>y have known <strong>the</strong>ir<br />

mo<strong>the</strong>r, <strong>the</strong>y never heard a mean or bitter word spoken<br />

against anyone. Idella passed away on Wednesday,<br />

November 11, 2009 at <strong>the</strong> Fallon Medical Complex<br />

Nursing Home in Baker. Idella is survived by her 4<br />

sons, <strong>and</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir wives, Wayne (Betti) Freier of Billings,<br />

MT, Jerry (Pam) Freier of Bismarck, ND, Kelly (Anita)<br />

Freier of Troutdale, OR <strong>and</strong> Jason (Allison) Holm of<br />

Racine, WI; a sister, Arlene (Verle) Graham of Baker,<br />

MT; 4 sister-in-laws, Betty Kusler of Baker, MT, Edna<br />

Atkinson of Glendive, MT, Agnes (Russell ) Wiseman<br />

of Nashaua, NH <strong>and</strong> Wendy Pugh of Havre, MT; 2<br />

bro<strong>the</strong>r-in-laws, John Buerkle <strong>and</strong> Maurice Allerdings<br />

both of Plevna, MT; her fa<strong>the</strong>r <strong>and</strong> mo<strong>the</strong>r-in-law<br />

Lloyd <strong>and</strong> Francis Holm both of Minnesota <strong>and</strong> leaves<br />

behind 7 gr<strong>and</strong>children <strong>and</strong> 10 great-gr<strong>and</strong>children.<br />

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin<br />

<strong>and</strong> Bertha, both husb<strong>and</strong>s, Edmund <strong>and</strong> Lynn, 2<br />

bro<strong>the</strong>rs, Leroy <strong>and</strong> Glenn <strong>and</strong> her gr<strong>and</strong>son, Aaron.<br />

<strong>God</strong> <strong>heals</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>brokenhearted</strong>,<br />

<strong>and</strong> <strong>binds</strong> <strong>up</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir <strong>wounds</strong>.<br />

<strong>He</strong> <strong>counts</strong> <strong>the</strong> stars<br />

<strong>and</strong> calls <strong>the</strong>m all by name.<br />

How great is our Lord!<br />

His power is absolute!<br />

His underst<strong>and</strong>ing is<br />

without measure.
