to revolutionise another. Our Stecard solution
for sanef’s motorway toll network, shows the
sharing of our expertise powerfully at work.
Steria are seasoned experts in payment
solutions for banking, with Stecard at the
forefront of chip technology for processing
multiple transactions. Yet electronic payment
processing on motorways has traditionally
relied on the swiping of magnetic strips for
authentication purposes. However, EMV
standards are changing this, obliging
motorway management to adopt smart
card chip methods for toll transactions.
Steria was the natural choice to help sanef,
who manage a major part of the French
motorway network, meet this challenge whilst
ensuring continuity of service. sanef needed
an open-ended solution, capable of managing
high-volume secure banking flows without
requiring a PIN, so the traffic keeps flowing.
Stecard provides all this, enabling the sanef
network to manage the 100 million payment
card transactions each year more speedily
and efficiently.
Metro de Madrid, the main Spanish subway
company, is relying on Steria’s ICT and
Business consultants to design its five-year
Information System Master Plan for operating
its 290 station network, used by about
2.5 million passengers a day. Our role is
to help evolve the company’s entire ICT
environment to align its IT strategy with
its business objectives, whilst anticipating
future needs and demands on the system.
Optimising and integrating processes is key
to meeting this objective, designing a more
dynamic IT organisation that allows greater
synergies and efficiencies to serve the
company and its passengers alike.
Hermes Transport Logistics is a major
European logistics company, providing
integrated services across road, rail, air
and sea. It is committed to managing and
reducing its environmental impact, setting
itself challenging targets for improving its
CO2 efficiency throughout all its operations.
Steria’s German consulting capacity has been
chosen to develop an IT solution for the
accurate monitoring of emissions throughout
its distribution network. We identify emission
drivers, to help establish much greener
products and services based on accurate
CO2 data. Accurate CO2 intelligence also helps
Hermes understand the emissions of its own
suppliers, to help them target and utilise
more efficient practices throughout its
entire operations.
