5 Performance<br />

5.2 Take-Off Distances Effected by External<br />

Circumstances<br />

Various circumstances will have an effect on the take-off distance of<br />

the aircraft. The following listing gives you an estimation of the<br />

values (subject to ICAO-Circular 601AN/55/2):<br />

Description<br />

On roll distance for dry grass +20%<br />

On roll distance for wet grass +30%<br />

On roll distance for soft surface +50%<br />

On roll distance for high temperatures +10%<br />

On air distance for dirty wings/raindrops +15%<br />

On air distance per 2 knots tailwind +10%<br />

On air distance per 10 knots headwind -10%<br />

On air distance for high temperatures +10%<br />

On roll distance above sea level (density altitude)<br />

On air distance above sea level (density altitude)<br />

+5% / 1.000ft<br />

5.3 Tested Glider Configuration<br />

The following gliders have been towed during flight tests:<br />

LS-1, LS-4, Baby-III, Astir and Twin Astir, Hornba<strong>ch</strong>, Junior, Jantar,<br />

Pirat, Pu<strong>ch</strong>acz, Discus and DuoDiscus, Blanik, DG-100/300/500,<br />

DG-1000, ASK-21 and ASW-24, Nimbus und Cirrus, Cobra, PIK-20.<br />
