3 <strong>Operating</strong> Limitations<br />

3.1 Maximum Permissible Towing Speed (V T )<br />

The airspeed during glider towing operations must not exceed the<br />

maximum permissible airspeed of the towed glider. The minimum<br />

airspeed when towing a glider must not drop below 1,3 . V S of the<br />

towed glider.<br />

3.2 Maximum Weak Link Strength<br />

1. Tow ropes should provide a length of 150 to 200 ft.<br />

2. A weak link of Q nom = 300 daN has to be installed.<br />

3.3 Maximum Glider Take-Off Weight<br />

The maximum permissible take-off weight of the glider to be towed<br />

varies with the propeller mounted to the REMOS GX. Following<br />

operating limitations may not be exceeded:<br />

During glider towing operations the REMOS GX must be operated<br />

only by one pilot (no passenger allowed, except for<br />

training/instruction). In that case the total take-off weight (towing<br />

aircraft + glider) must not exceed 2.900 lb.<br />
