JOHN HERSEY HIGH SCHOOL’S FOOD DRIVE! The SOS Program and Student Council sends the local communities a heartfelt thanks for another amazing food drive. We topped 40,000 cans this year, and the quality of the food was phenomenal. We also collected over $3,000.00. At Happy Huskey Halloween, 16 boxes of food were donated from the community attendees and our Choir donated 16 family boxes and $650.00. Hersey’s band donated 24 family food boxes and $400.00. What an amazing job done by all. On Friday, November 16, Hersey’s students and faculty sponsors delivered three truckloads of food to the St. Augustine Center for Indian Affairs in Chicago, a truckload of food to CEDA Northwest in Mt. Prospect and also the food pantry at St. Alphonsus Church. 65 food baskets and gift certificates were distributed for Hersey families! Your generosity and kind spirit has helped those in our communities who have fallen on hard times. Great Job Huskies! You have helped to brighten the Holidays for others! “Teamwork Makes The Dream Work” in food in the beginning of October. Mrs. Hoijer stated she was very proud of them. Mrs. Hoijer’s AP Chemistry students (21 students) collected 5190 cans for the food drive this year. These students actually started talking about this from the very first day of school, and they started to bring 3

Hersey’s staff joins to support the Hersey Food Drive Loading the Trucks for the Food Pantries! Note from a prior years parent: “Thanks to this Food Drive - I was able to give my kids 8 years of Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners 10 years ago. Thanks so much to everyone.” 4
