North Bullitt High School Dress Code / Student Information 2012 – 2013 North Bullitt’s primary focus is to provide students a solid academic foundation in an effort to prepare them for life following high school. While the dress code does allow some freedom we do require students to dress in a manner that is respectful and does not distract from learning. Clothing or hairstyles which cause a disruption to the educational process are not permitted. In addition, any item with obscene, vulgar, offensive, racist references, suggestive jokes, pictures, symbols or graphics is prohibited. This would include clothing and/or accessories that advertise drugs, tobacco, or alcohol products, violence, sexually explicit languages, images or innuendoes, etc. Required Every Day Item Style Information Shirt/Blouse Polo Style Button Down NBHS Spirit Shirt T-shirt with plain or appropriate logo/slogan Buttoned appropriately Pants/Shorts/Skirts All pants/shorts must be worn at the waist Tights, yoga pants, stretch pants, or spandex only are not allowed Shorts/skirts must be no shorter than three inches above the knee Footwear Dress Shoes Casual – loafers, sandals, Tennis Shoes Flip Flops All shirts must have sleeves Visible cleavage or midsection is not allowed at any time (when sitting or standing) See first paragraph for “appropriateness” Holes, rips, tears, “frays,” etc. are not allowed 3 inches above the knee Oversize or sagging pants/shorts/skirts are not permissible Skirts must be within 3 inches of knee - even when wearing stockings, tights, or stretch pants House Shoes are not allowed Both shoes must be of the same style and color Tennis shoes are required for PE Shoes with covered toes are required for Science labs 18

**Administrators reserve the right to use discretion in applying the dress code in<br />

regards to clothing or items not specifically listed they feel may cause a disruption to<br />

the educational process.<br />

1 st Offense ISAP until violation corrected<br />

2 nd Offense 1 day ISAP and parent notification<br />

3 rd Offense 1 to 3 days of ISAP and parent conference<br />
