Notice the pattern: as + adjective + as<br />

In (a): Their ages are the same.<br />

In (b): The price of the watches is the same.<br />

(c) and (d) have the same meaning.<br />

(e) and (f) have the same meaning.<br />

(g) and (h) have the same meaning. Lass is the<br />

opposite of more. Less is used with adjectives that<br />

have two or more syllables (except most adjectives<br />

that end in -y). Lss. is usually not used with onesyllable<br />

adjectives or adjectives that end in -y.<br />

INCORRECT: Fred is less old than Jean.<br />

CORRECT: Fred isn't as old as Jean.<br />

Fred is younger than Jean.<br />
