EXERCISE 59-REVIEW: Play this game in small groups. Think of a NOUN. Describe this<br />

noun to your group by giving clues. Don't mention the noun. The group will guess<br />

the noun you're thinking of.<br />

Examples:<br />

STUDENT A: I'm thinking of a kind of plant. It's small and colorful. It smells good.<br />

GROUP: A flower!<br />

STUDENT B:<br />

GROUP:<br />

I'm thinking of a person. She has short black hair. She's wearing a blue<br />

sweater and a black skirt today.<br />

That's too easy! Yoko!<br />

STUDENT C: I'm thinking of a very big cat. It's a wild animal.<br />

GROUP: A lion!<br />

STUDENT C: NO. It's orange and black. It lives in Asia. It has stripes.<br />

GROUP: A tiger!<br />

EXERCISE 60-REVIEW: Bring to class an object from your country. In a small group,<br />

describe your object and tell your classmates about it: What is it? How is it used?<br />

Why is it special? Answer questions from the group.<br />

When all of the groups f ~ sdiscussing h the objects, all of the objects should be<br />

brought to the center of the room.<br />

STUDENT A: Choose one of the objects. Ask questions about it. Find out who it<br />

belongs to and what it is. (The owner of the object should NOT speak.<br />

People from the owner's group will give Student A the necessary<br />

information.)<br />

STUDENT B: Choose another one of the objects and ask questions.<br />

STUDENT C: Etc.<br />

After all of the objects have been discussed, choose five of them to write about.<br />

Write a short paragraph on each object. What is it? What does it look like? Whose is<br />

it? What's it for? Why is it special? Why is it interesting to you? Etc.
