4 EXERCISE 46-REVIEW: In pairs, pretend that tomorrow you are moving into a new<br />

apartment together. What do you need? Ask each other questions. Discuss your needs.<br />

In writing, list the things you need and indicate quantity (teuo, some, a lot of; a<br />

little, etc.). List twenty to thirty things. Be sure to write down the quantity. You are<br />

completing this sentence: ''w need. . . ."<br />

Example: We need . . .<br />

1. a sofa.<br />

2. two beds.<br />

3. a can opener.<br />

4. some spaghetti.<br />

5. a little fruit.<br />

6. some bookcases. etc.<br />

4 EXERCISE 47-REVIEW: Make a list of everything in the picture by completing the sentence<br />

"Isee . . . ." Try to use numbers (e.g., three spoons) or other units of measure (e.g.,<br />

a baw of candy). Use a for singular count nouns (e.g., afly).<br />

Example: I see three spoons, a box of candy, a fly, etc. .<br />

EXERCISE 48-REVIEW: In pairs, ask and answer questions about the things and people in<br />

the picture on the following page.<br />

Example:<br />

STUDENT A: HOW many boys are there in the picture?<br />

STUDENT B: There are three boys in the picture.<br />

STUDENT A: Are there any flowers?<br />

STUDENT B: No, there aren't any flowers in the picture.<br />

STUDENT A: Are you sure?<br />

STUDENT B: Well, hmmm. I don't see any flowers.<br />

STUDENTA: Oh?
