Implementation of the Lean System program also continued in <strong>2012</strong>, which will allow<br />

to the industrial organization to reach levels of further excellence in quality, speed and<br />

production flexibility.<br />

Lastly, in <strong>2012</strong> the “zero accidents” program produced satisfactory results in all manufacturing<br />

and logistics sites.<br />

Corporate Services<br />

In <strong>2012</strong> important professional investments have been made in the digital and e-commerce<br />

areas, while central services supporting the businesses have strengthened (Business<br />

Development, Internal Communications and Internal Auditing).<br />

Focus: Global employee engagement survey<br />

In <strong>2012</strong> the entire <strong>Luxottica</strong> organization participated in the first global employee<br />

engagement survey. With the active participation of more than 55,000 employees, <strong>Luxottica</strong><br />

created an opportunity for employee feedback and internal communication aimed at<br />

collecting recommendations on how to further improve the quality of employment.<br />

The survey, which included many aspects deemed relevant to a positive employment<br />

relationship, highlighted the ability of <strong>Luxottica</strong> in providing work environments<br />

characterized by reciprocal trust and pride of belonging (see graphics).<br />
