Is the age of the building appropriate? (Consider whether
the service would be better delivered from an older low
profile property as distinct from a new high profile one)
Is the type of construction appropriate? (Consider service
user perception, issues arising from, for instance,
temporary type of structures, or ‘older’ style architecture,
relative to the nature of the service being delivered.)
Is the internal decoration to a suitable level for current
use?
Is the external appearance of the property acceptable?
(Consider external decorations; the presence of graffiti;
leaking gutters/down pipes causing staining to walls;
damage to boundary walls/fences, etc.)
Are the floor surfaces suitable for the property’s purpose?
(Consider anti-slip where needed, non-static, state of wear
and tear, etc.)
Are public reception areas comfortable and inviting?
(Consider whether the reception point is clearly visible,
that the furniture is suitable; the extent to which the area is
used as a ‘store’ for redundant equipment; the posters that
are displayed and their appearance, etc.)
Is the property cleaned to a high enough standard?
Are the external areas adequately laid-out and
maintained? (Consider whether the layout offers hiding
places to ‘undesirables’, prevention of vandalism, etc.)
