After a very busy first semester, all Entrance Examinations
and interviews for 2009 applicants as well as Year 7,
2010 have now been completed and all places have
been filled. We now have waitlists for every Year level. Five
hundred and sixty boys sat entrance exams for these intakes,
with the entire Year 3, 2009 class filled with either sons of
Old Boys or siblings of current students. This year we had a
record number of Year 5 applicants: 181 boys sat entrance
examinations for 56 places available. A number of meanstested
bursaries were also awarded for next year.
Next year our Entrance Examinations will be held in
February rather than in March, so families will be notified in
January regarding the details of the examination days.
Open Day was held on a fine day in March this year.
Many families visited the College and enjoyed meeting
some of our students, parents, Old Boys and staff who
kindly volunteered to show prospective families around
the College. There were displays of Cadets, Art, Music,
Languages, Mathematics, IT, Drama, Sports and Library
amongst others, as well as BBQs and refreshments served
for our visitors.
