hilarious act of grannies riding
around on their extra large
shopping trolley playing loud
music, dancing and interacting
with the public is not to be

Talk of the Town last year was
Musical Ruth and her Piano - you
need to see this! From 1 year old to
100 years old, you WILL be crying
with laughter after seeing this very
naughty nun passing by...

The event is FREE OF CHARGE to attend. Please note that Skipton High
Street will be closed to through traffic on both days. All town car parks
will be in operation and where appropriate diversions will be in place.

BJORN THE POLAR BEAR RETURNS TO SKIPTON
Crammed full of entertainment...
Skipton’s famous Yuletide Festival
and market is now in its 17th year.
This hugely successful event, brought
to you by Skipton Town Council and
the Skipton Business Improvement
District, attracts thousands of people
from across the country on the first
two Sundays of December.
Skipton’s famous Market will be in full flow on both days – running the
full length of the High Street, named as Best Street in the UK in 2009!
Together with the market there will be a full range of entertainment in
the Town Centre throughout
the day, both in the main
High Street Arena and at
themed locations across the
Town. The whole of Skipton
will have a real Christmas
feel!

Skipton’s famous market in full flow...
The Yuletide Festival is an
ideal opportunity to sample
a great atmosphere – and
to bag yourself a pre-Christmas bargain at the same time. In fact, you
could do ALL your Christmas shopping in one go at the fabulous range
of independent shops, market stalls and famous high street brands.
Skipton also has two department stores – and a fabulous range of places
to eat and drink.
Each day of the Festival rounds
off with a procession up the
High Street to Holy Trinity
Church (starting at 4pm) where a
traditional Christmas carol service
takes place in the grounds!
This year the entertainment
includes the likes of Bjorn the
Polar Bear, the Tap Dancing
Turkeys, Musical Ruth and her piano, The Granny Turismo’s and Santa’s
REAL Reindeer. Along with these great acts we still have our regulars, so
look out once again for Skipton Brass Band, Barnoldswick Brass Band,
Nelson Brass Band and Accrington Pipe Band.
