You can record timecode generated by <strong>the</strong> <strong>in</strong>ternal timecode generator toge<strong>the</strong>r with <strong>audio</strong><br />
simultaneously.<br />
This section describes sett<strong>in</strong>gs and operations for timecode record<strong>in</strong>g. See "Chapter 4: Audio record<strong>in</strong>g/playback"<br />
for details about sett<strong>in</strong>gs and operations for <strong>audio</strong> record<strong>in</strong>g.<br />
The follow<strong>in</strong>g description assumes that one of <strong>the</strong> [AUDIO RDY] key <strong>in</strong>dicators ([NEW FILE] or<br />

Timecode starts from <strong>the</strong> current time of <strong>the</strong> <strong>in</strong>ternal clock of <strong>the</strong> unit.<br />
When record<strong>in</strong>g timecode to a new <strong>file</strong>, <strong>the</strong> generator records timecode from <strong>the</strong> value which<br />
cont<strong>in</strong>ues to <strong>the</strong> last timecode value of <strong>the</strong> previous <strong>audio</strong> <strong>file</strong>. You can also use this <strong>mode</strong> for<br />
restrip<strong>in</strong>g discont<strong>in</strong>uous timecode.<br />
Runs <strong>the</strong> <strong>in</strong>ternal generator by <strong>the</strong> free run <strong>mode</strong>, and records <strong>the</strong> current <strong>in</strong>ternal generator<br />
time as <strong>the</strong> start time.<br />
The external timecode value is recorded as <strong>the</strong> start time.<br />
<br />
Unlike timecode striped on an <strong>audio</strong> or video tape, timecode on a disk is not striped from <strong>the</strong><br />
beg<strong>in</strong>n<strong>in</strong>g to <strong>the</strong> end. Only <strong>the</strong> offset between <strong>the</strong> ABS time and timecode at <strong>the</strong> record<strong>in</strong>g start<br />
po<strong>in</strong>t is recorded.<br />
Therefore, if you record a discont<strong>in</strong>uous timecode value <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> middle, <strong>the</strong> unit cannot recognize<br />
it. Also, <strong>the</strong> user bit when timecode starts record<strong>in</strong>g is valid throughout <strong>the</strong> timecode, so<br />
<strong>the</strong> unit cannot handle <strong>the</strong> user bit that changes <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> middle.<br />
3. Press <strong>the</strong> [TC RDY] key to arm <strong>the</strong> timecode track.<br />
The TC RDY <strong>in</strong>dicator is lit while "TC RDY" is shown on <strong>the</strong> display.<br />
4. After press<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> [SHIFT] key to make <strong>the</strong> SHIFT <strong>mode</strong> active, press <strong>the</strong> [CHASE/SETUP] key to enter<br />
<strong>the</strong> TC SETUP <strong>mode</strong>, <strong>the</strong>n preset <strong>the</strong> <strong>in</strong>ternal timecode generator time if necessary.<br />
See page 5-6 for details about how to preset <strong>the</strong> <strong>in</strong>ternal timecode generator time.<br />
