<strong>The</strong> programme highlights the characteristic features <strong>of</strong> the living <strong>and</strong> non-living constituents <strong>of</strong> our<br />
environment. <strong>The</strong> importance <strong>of</strong> environment for our survival <strong>and</strong> the uniqueness <strong>of</strong> the planet Earth for<br />
sustaining life has been described. <strong>The</strong> life sustaining conditions have also been mentioned in the programme.<br />
<strong>The</strong> constituents <strong>of</strong> biosphere such as hydrosphere, lithosphere <strong>and</strong> atmosphere have been described. <strong>The</strong><br />
ecosystem with special reference to biotic <strong>and</strong> biotic components has been explained with live examples.<br />
<strong>The</strong> food chain, food web <strong>and</strong> the energy flow have also been described emphasising their importance<br />
in maintaining natural balance. Besides describing the hazardous effects <strong>of</strong> environment pollution, the<br />
possible precautionary measures to control environmental pollution have also been suggested in the<br />

This programme deals with the Earth, its atmosphere <strong>and</strong> the layers <strong>of</strong> gases surrounding the Earth. A<br />
detailed view <strong>of</strong> atmospheric gases, layers <strong>of</strong> gases <strong>and</strong> their ratio has also been provided in the film.<br />
<strong>The</strong> Film depicts green house effect, importance <strong>of</strong> ozone layer shield, effects <strong>of</strong> chlor<strong>of</strong>luorocarbons <strong>and</strong><br />
global warming. At the end <strong>of</strong> the programme, water <strong>and</strong> its relevance to Earth is described by<br />
using good visuals <strong>of</strong> forest, plants, ice etc. Illustrated explanation <strong>of</strong> temperature inversion is<br />
well depicted.<br />

<strong>The</strong> programme deals with the projectile motion <strong>and</strong> motion <strong>of</strong> an object in two directions: its path <strong>and</strong><br />
various factors which are responsible for the moving object to take a curved path. Example <strong>of</strong> Gun Shot<br />
<strong>and</strong> throwing <strong>of</strong> Rubber b<strong>and</strong> made it a very effective visual presentation <strong>of</strong> the concept <strong>of</strong> projectile<br />

This programme is about different patterns <strong>of</strong> interaction between man <strong>and</strong> environment. To illustrate how<br />
man has been living with his natural surroundings, given the environmental <strong>and</strong> cultural constraints, this<br />
programme shows how the tribal people in various countries <strong>of</strong> the world have over the years, learned to<br />
adapt <strong>and</strong> adjust with their natural habitats. This programme also shows how modern man, on the other<br />
h<strong>and</strong>, has learned to mould nature according to his own needs <strong>and</strong> requirements by constructing dams <strong>and</strong><br />
canals, making deserts green <strong>and</strong> creating high-tech living environs even in harsh inhabitable natural regions<br />
such as the Antarctica.<br />
