The MBAprogram should focus on "How to think" rather than "What to think" MBA candidates are expected to
diagnose problems,analyse data and situations, apply theory and concepts to gain insight and understanding,
and make decisions and recommendations. In other words students learn to apply theory to management
practices in ways that are analytically rigorous and managerially decisive.
Keeping in view all th~se background ,Srinivas Institute of Management Studies, Mangalore Institution is striving
to provide all possible assistance to itsgraduates in their efforts to develop integrated personality. The Placement
service operates year round to facilitate contacts between companies and graduates. This Cell also coordinates
various activities related to the career of the students along with the industrial training, industry visits etc.
In the endeavor to give more opportunity to see how companies function, what is the reality, and making the
students more competitive when seeking full time employment, A week-long college-to-corporate programme-
Samyukta 2008 - forfinal year MBAstudents from January 11. to 18th was organized, which aimed to offer MBA
students the opportunity to learn about business practices, from experienced executives. and programme
proved to be very useful. Nearly 35 executives from different segment of the Industry like finance, marketing,
alternative investments, HR,Media etc.were invited on different days, to en lighten ou r students. This program me
was also aimed to:-
. To provide the students an insight to areas of career development and job search skills
. Instill confidence in them to start job searching, vist companies and give presentations.
Management is above all a practice where Art, Science and Craft meet. Meaning full exposure to corporate world
help the students to find jobs and market themselves. The SAMYUKTA programme facilitated Industry Institution
Interaction, by which itwas evidentthat students could get more confidence to face the world.
The valedictory programme was held on 25th Jan.2008. Mr. Arvind Singh, the Commissioner of
Customs,Mangalore and Mr.K.Parashivaiah,Additional Commisioner of Income Tax, Mangalore were the guest
of honors, who very much appreciated the effort of Srinivas Management Institution in creating the committed
Management professionals. Mr.A.Raghavendra Rao, the President of A.Shama Rao Foundation and M.D of
Srinivas Groupof Colleges presided over the function, and A.Srinivas Rao, the Vice Predident of A.Shama Rao
Foundationfacilitated the students. Dr.P.5.Aithal the dynamic Principal of the Institution welcomed the guests.
Prof.5riram Karanth, the Placement officr enumerated the purpose of the programme.
