He uses bore well water, as well as water from the Kaveri river. The soil type is alluvial clay. SRI adoption Ravichandran was introduced to SRI by TNAU. As seen in 2004 Samba 55.50 the table, he has taken SRI paddy in different 2005 Samba 60.70 seasons. He grows the following varieties of 2006 Samba 60.70 paddy: Kuruvai – TKM 9, CORH 1; Samba – 2007 Kuruvai 10.00 CR1009; Thaladi – ADT 39, Ponni and uses the 2007 Samba 40.15 following inputs: Cattle farm yard manure, DAP, 2007 Thaladi 10.00 and Urea. 2008 Kuruvai 12.00 SRI practices followed by him are: 2008 Samba 38.25 2008 Thaladi 12.00 transplanting younger seedlings of 14 to18 days; careful planting of single seedlings; 2 wide square pattern, 9 X 9 inch intermittent wetting and drying; and frequent weeding. He has used the following tools and implements: Conoweeder, Rope-Marker, Leafcolour card, “Pambu Palagai” (a type of plank for levelling the field). When his crop 76
