1. Develop<strong>in</strong>g and direct<strong>in</strong>g an <strong>in</strong>terdiscipl<strong>in</strong>ary graduate program of Early <strong>Child</strong>hood Studies under the jo<strong>in</strong>t<br />

auspices of the School of Social Work & School of Education. The role <strong>in</strong>cluded the development of a research<br />

oriented academic program with a supervised field work practicum, develop<strong>in</strong>g the academic faculty and teach<strong>in</strong>g<br />

resources, student recruitment and screen<strong>in</strong>g, while keep<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> close contact with the field of Early <strong>Child</strong>hood <strong>in</strong><br />

Israel. The role <strong>in</strong>cluded also the cont<strong>in</strong>uous monitor<strong>in</strong>g and modification of the academic program, and the<br />

establishment and supervision of a Resource Center which develops tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g materials <strong>for</strong> Early <strong>Child</strong>hood as<br />

well as offers workshops and consultation to professionals outside the University.<br />
