28 Y O U T H F I R E A R M S INVESTING IN OUR FUTURE. We’ve gone the extra step to redesign some of our standard, premium-grade stocks for a shorter length-of-pull – then fitted them to some of our finest, most proven rifles and shotguns. All Youth rifles we make are counter-balanced with a shorter 20" (22" on long action offerings) barrel and all Youth shotguns with a 21" (20" for youth deer gun) barrel to keep them from becoming muzzle-heavy while also retaining effective ballistics. Two centerfire rifle choices are available. The first is our compact Model Seven bolt action chambered for 260 Remington, and a synthetic model, chambered for 223 Remington, 243 Win and 7mm-08 Remington. The other is our legendary Model 700. The Model 700 SPS Youth Synthetic is available in a short action synthetic stock configuration, chambered for either 243 Win or 308 Win, and the SPS Youth Synthetic long action is chambered for either 270 Win or 30-06 and is specifically designed to take advantage of our new Managed-Recoil ammunition. All synthetic stocked youth rifles feature the R3 ® recoil pad. In Youth shotguns, in addition to existing offerings in the Model 870 Express line, we’re featuring three new pump shotgun offerings this year – the Model 870 Wingmaster ® Jr., the Model 870 Express ® Jr. NWTF Jakes Gun – both with shorter 12" length of pull stocks and 18 3 /4" barrels, as well as a Model 870 Express Synthetic Youth Combo featuring a 21" vent rib barrel and a 20" fully rifled barrel. The all-new Model 11-87 Sportsman Youth shotgun brings 20-gauge 2 3 /4" and 3" capability to the youth autoloading shotgun line. Now smaller stature shooters can benefit from full range capability in a soft recoiling gas autoloading shotgun. Like its pump-action counterparts, the Model 11-87 Sportsman Youth features a one-inch shorter length-of-pull stock and a 21" vent rib, Rem Choke barrel. Although we call it our Youth firearm line, the rifles and shotguns here are ideal for more than just young shooters.
