This seaside town always has plenty to offer and I know that there is always shelter from wind rain<br />
or bright sun. Come along and enjoy yourself<br />
4 July Dunsdale Ted, Lyn & Friends<br />
A great bushwalk in the Rayonier forest block. Perhaps along 100 pipers road onto Hokonui Road<br />
and Whitehorse road? Ted will inform you on the day<br />
11 July Silver Lake Charlie & Otatara friends<br />
Now this will have some of you thinking - also known as Silver Lagoon - Otatara<br />
18 July Bluff Colin & Jenny<br />
A great walk to the Bluff boat cemetery – which has a lovely view and is very special.<br />
25 July Riversdale Dwyliss, Joy & Ann<br />
We haven’t been there for such a long time and this will coincide with the famous Riversdale Arts<br />
& Crafts festival. It’s their 40 th anniversary and there will be an opportunity to visit the festival.<br />
Bring extra coins for the entry.<br />
1 Aug Winton Joan & Bev<br />
Come along and take part in the brand new walk around this township. No undulations here<br />
8 Aug Town walk Merle & Joan<br />
From Lake Street to Thompsons Bush. This will include other bush areas. Will be great fun.<br />
15 Aug Forest Hill Colin & Jenny<br />
Derek Turnbull track – a local legend in his own right as the ‘fastest old man’. Take a moment<br />
when you reach the fallen rata to reflect on his world record breaking achievements<br />
22 Aug Bushy Park Shirley & Wally<br />
Another great walk in the Otatara area. Shelter from the winds – but also to see the recent<br />
planting for the area<br />
29 Aug Tuatapere Cheryl & Friends<br />
Visit the western districts under the leadership of a lady that was bought up in this area. Home to<br />
the award winning Tuatapere sausages and Hump Ridge.<br />
4 Sept Planning Meeting venue TBC Ann<br />
BNZ rooms 1.30pm. Come along and help plan the summer walks. These can be so much fun<br />
and give us the opportunity to do and see things that we usually don’t get the chance to<br />
5 Sept Makarewa Kathleen & Lyn<br />
The walk is yet to be confirmed – but there are plenty of wide road verges and lots to see and do<br />
12 Sept Otatara Volunteer please<br />
Depending on the tide and weather – this may become a beach walk.<br />
19 Sept South City surprise Wally, Shirley & Friends<br />
Wally and Shirley are planning a walk from A to B and onto their home (C) in Tisbury. This will be<br />
fun and a nice change
26 Sept Ryal Bush Ann & Volunteers<br />
Your team leader will host you on this walk and be prepared for something a little different. May<br />
end up at the Ryal Bush Community Centre as lunch venue<br />
3 <strong>Oct</strong> Mystery Trip 8.30am – 5pm – BOOKING<br />

ESSENTIAL<br />
The annual mystery trip is back! I’ve worked out the destination and I know that this will be very<br />
popular and it’s not one we have done before! No clues! Watch for the details in the folder on the<br />
bus or the website. This will give you the information and costings etc – but it will be around $55<br />
April 26/27 Overnight trip – one off – BOOKING<br />

ESSENTIAL 8am start – ETR 6.30pm<br />
2014 Travel to Te Anau and onto Te Anau Downs cross the lake (by boat – not swim) to Glade house<br />
and walk the very flat track to Clinton Forks hut. Suitable for all walkers. Cost will be in the region<br />
of $200pp – so please start saving. More details at next planning meeting<br />
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:<br />
All walkers to meet by 9.15 am at the STADIUM SOUTHLAND CAR PARK. Buses will leave at 9.30am SHARP unless<br />
otherwise stated. ETR (estimated time of return) about 1-2.30pm unless stated. (Buses are required for school runs<br />
during the school term)<br />
Bring a campstool, thermos (or drink bottles and sun block in the hot weather), food, comfortable shoes, water proof<br />
jacket and warm clothing, these can all be left on the bus whilst walking.<br />
Remember to bring coin change for your bus fare. Bus fares usually range from $5 to $15 APPROX.<br />
Compulsory for you all to enjoy your walks! <strong>Sport</strong> <strong>Southland</strong> really enjoys any feedback.<br />

Please line up for the bus in an orderly line with the tail towards the Badminton Hall (north) please<br />
