We Need Volunteers for the following ...
Environment Southland Summer Walk Series
We are introducing a new summer walking series utilising the Flood bank network around the City and the new ICC
Walking/Cycling Trail Maps. The walking groups would potentially include; retirees, unemployed, “Kiwi Seniors”,
GRX clients, dog walkers, workplace “breakouts” etc. It will be held on the same day each week (both morning and
evening walks) from mid November to mid March offering a new walk each week.
To help this run successfully we are looking for a volunteer to fill the position as the Summer Series Walk Coordinator.
This can also be a shared role if preferred. The role would suit those with walking experience and confident in leading
others. If you think this sounds like you, please contact Melissa at Sport Southland 03 211 2150 for more information.
Stencil Project
Sport Southland with the support of Malloch McClean will be implementing a Stencil Project which will be available to
schools to paint their playground with games and educational stencils. There will be a range of stencils of all shapes
and sizes with the only cost to schools being the cost of paint. An electronic paint gun is also supplied to schools.
We are looking for a volunteer who would be able to go into the schools and assist in painting the stencils. It would
be preferable to have a background in painting and a flexible timetable to work in with the schools involved.
Please contact Melissa if you would like to be involved.
