DEVONPORT<br />

A hard fought two point win over North Hobart<br />

last Saturday sees the Devonport Magpies<br />

take on Launceston in the preliminary final<br />

this <strong>week</strong>. Congratulations to Errol Bourn and<br />

his team for an excellent result in atrocious<br />

conditions. Good luck for today!<br />

Once again, the Club has been saddened by the<br />

loss of another of its stalwarts – Joseph (Joey)<br />

Hawkes, who recently passed away and we<br />

express our condolences to his family.<br />

The Devonport Football Club appreciates and<br />

Congratulations to Matthew Shaw and the<br />

Reserves on winning their way through to today’s<br />

Preliminary Final. We wish you very well today –<br />

we know you’ll do the club proud.<br />

Last Friday evening the U18 Best and Fairest<br />

Count was held with the following award winners<br />

announced – Richard Hanley (Best and Fairest,<br />

Most Consistent), Michael Badcock (Runner-Up,<br />

Most Potential), Shane Curtis (Most Effective),<br />

Simon Palmer (Best Team Player) and James<br />

Hitchens (Coaches Award). Congratulations to all<br />

the young guys.<br />

Many thanks to Club Legend – Barry Hassett on his<br />

wonderful vote calling, Ken Silver for the power point<br />

program and the ‘Kitchen Crew’ for a lovely meal.<br />
