DEVONPORT
A hard fought two point win over North Hobart
last Saturday sees the Devonport Magpies
take on Launceston in the preliminary final
this week. Congratulations to Errol Bourn and
his team for an excellent result in atrocious
conditions. Good luck for today!
Once again, the Club has been saddened by the
loss of another of its stalwarts – Joseph (Joey)
Hawkes, who recently passed away and we
express our condolences to his family.
The Devonport Football Club appreciates and

Congratulations to Matthew Shaw and the
Reserves on winning their way through to today’s
Preliminary Final. We wish you very well today –
we know you’ll do the club proud.
Last Friday evening the U18 Best and Fairest
Count was held with the following award winners
announced – Richard Hanley (Best and Fairest,
Most Consistent), Michael Badcock (Runner-Up,
Most Potential), Shane Curtis (Most Effective),
Simon Palmer (Best Team Player) and James
Hitchens (Coaches Award). Congratulations to all
the young guys.
Many thanks to Club Legend – Barry Hassett on his
wonderful vote calling, Ken Silver for the power point
program and the ‘Kitchen Crew’ for a lovely meal.
Also a big thank you to the trophy donors –
