Optus
During the week the HFC had much pleasure
in announcing ‘Optus’ as the naming rights
sponsor of the Hobart Football Club. Optus
and the HFC are both up and coming names in
Tasmania and with the assistance and support
of each other both of will be challenging the
competition leaders in the not too distant
future.
Akermanis
Tonight in the Clubrooms Jason Akermanis
will be our guest speaker. The evening being
a 7pm for 7.30pm start. Tickets are $20 per
head and can be purchased in the Clubrooms
throughout the day. Finger food will be
provided and drinks are at members prices.
HFC Race Day
Last Sunday the Hobart Football Club hosted
a day at the horse races at Tattersall’s Park.
The day was a huge success with all attending
thoroughly enjoying the inaugural Club event.
A huge thank you must go to board member
Ian Garrett who ran the whole event from start

An evening with Mark Maclure
19th May – Former Carlton Captain Mark
Maclure will be our guest in the Clubrooms
Mark Maclure was named the Blues captain
for the season of 1986 but was troubled by
injuries. He recovered enough to take the
Blues into a finals campaign but it proved not
to be successful as they lost to Hawthorn in
the Grand Final that year.
These days, Mark works as an expert football
commentator for ABC radio. More information
will follow in coming editions
Westpac
Today’s game at the TCA is sponsored by
Westpac. Westpac was a Gold Sponsor of the
Club in 2010 and David Anning the Westpac
Bank Manager Hobart recently announced
Westpac’s sponsorship had been extended in
season 2011. In conjunction with sponsoring
the Club Westpac has extended its support
to include a fundraising opportunity for the
Club through a Loan Referral program. All
supporters now have the ability to access a
competive loan package through Westpac
at 28 Elizabeth Street Hobart and at the
same time assist the Club to raise additional
sponsorship dollars.
