APPLAUDS GO OUT TO OUR EMPLOYEES FOR A JOB WELL DONE
I recently had my auto transported from North Carolina to Battleground, WA by US Transport located in Spokane. I
couldn’t get information for US Auto or the broker who set up the move regarding the status of my car when it did
not arrive within the time period promised. You and your department were wonderful in tracking down the
operator, talking to him and having him contact me. My car was delivered later that day. This letter is a formal “thank
you” to Officer Dashiell and Officer Grant, for your responsiveness and your assistance. I am most grateful and the
Spokane PD has made a friend and an advocate.
Thank you all for your concern and prompt attention to the graffiti problem at our property. The situation appears to
be resolved and it is a relief not to go out and see the graffiti on our fence each morning. All the officers who
responded were very professional and caring. Please convey our thanks to them. The following are the names we
remember: Officer Raleigh, Cpl. Harding, Sgt. Walters, Officer Kaufman, and Sgt. Giannetto. I am sure there were
others whose names we may have forgotten. Please convey our thanks to them as well.
On May 9, Officer Mike Roberge and Lt. Darrell Toombs came to Northwest Gold Prospectors Association and
spoke to us about the gang problem in the area. We were unaware of the magnitude of the problem and the things
they have to do to be a gang member. I think the picture that upset me the most was of the children who are gang
members. I have great grandchildren that age and younger and cannot imagine them in a gang. We wish Officer
Roberge and Lt. Toombs success and may God keep them safe. Thank you for letting them come and making us more
aware of what is going on.
On May 30, I was the victim of a home invasion. I want you to know that everyone involved, from the 9-1-1 operator
to, and especially Detective John Miller, acted in a very courteous, competent, and professional manner. Even though
the “bad guy” hasn’t been caught and isn’t likely to be, I want to thank you and the entire Spokane Police Department
for a job well done.
I think Barb Barber should get a kudos for taking care of all the booked arrests for the city and the county, while we
were short in the Data Entry work area.
I think Jerri Bjork needs an atta boy!!! Today we have been just slammed at the Data Entry work area. A detective
wanted to do a temporary felony warrant, Jerri said she has the notes and would do it. She is the newest person up
here and she took the ball and ran with it. I think that she is a fabulous employee!!!
I want to tell you about two exceptional police officers in your department. Officer James Erickson and Officer Rob
Boothe were called to our home on a death call. Both officers were so compassionate and sensitive to the needs of
the family and friends gathered, and spoke to us in a calming and reassuring manner. Please express to them once
again how very much we appreciated their help to us in dealing with the death of our loved one.
