A M<strong>in</strong>ute With: Shawn White<br />
Shawn White was born <strong>in</strong> Redwood City and attended all local schools, graduat<strong>in</strong>g from<br />
Sequoia High <strong>in</strong> 1996. He then attended Bethany University <strong>in</strong> Scotts Valley, where he<br />
studied church leadership and bus<strong>in</strong>ess adm<strong>in</strong>istration. After that, he attended the San<br />
Francisco State University bus<strong>in</strong>ess adm<strong>in</strong>istration program.<br />
Shawn currently lives <strong>in</strong> the Palm Park neighborhood with his wife, Robyn, and<br />
daughter, Olivia.<br />
He was first appo<strong>in</strong>ted to the Parks, Recreation and <strong>Community</strong> Services<br />
Commission <strong>in</strong> June 2004. He was reappo<strong>in</strong>ted <strong>in</strong> May 2008, and his term expires <strong>in</strong><br />
May 2012. He recently applied for an open seat on the Plann<strong>in</strong>g Commission.<br />
His community <strong>in</strong>volvement <strong>in</strong>cludes the Pride and Beautification Committee, and he<br />
was appo<strong>in</strong>ted by the Board of Supervisors to the San Mateo County Juvenile Justice<br />
and Del<strong>in</strong>quency Commission.<br />
He works at Keynote Systems and is currently vice president of operations <strong>in</strong><br />
<strong>in</strong>formation technologies.<br />
He is also <strong>in</strong>volved with PARCA, Tapestry Church, the Redwood City–San Mateo<br />
County Chamber of Commerce, Bethlehem A.D. and Redwood City International, and<br />
he serves as secretary of the West Sequoia Village homeowners association.<br />
Shawn’s hobbies <strong>in</strong>clude mounta<strong>in</strong> bik<strong>in</strong>g, runn<strong>in</strong>g, brew<strong>in</strong>g beer and total fitness.<br />
