The highlights of the scheme were:<br />
■ It was applicable to all permanent workmen<br />
who had completed 10 years of service or 40<br />
years of age.<br />
■ Managerial staff and Directors were not<br />
covered in this scheme.<br />
■ The VRS benefits paid to the workmen whose<br />
applications were accepted were lower of<br />
either three months salary (basic + dearness<br />
allowance) for each completed year of service,<br />
or salary (basic + dearness allowance)<br />
multiplied by the remaining months of service<br />
left before normal date of retirement, subject<br />
to maximum of Rs. 300,000.<br />
<strong>Dr</strong>. Reddy’s has paid Rs. 20.5 millions<br />
towards the retirement compensation in<br />

SHARE CAPITAL<br />
DURING 2001-02, <strong>Dr</strong>. Reddy’s became<br />
first Asian pharmaceutical company<br />
outside of Japan to list on the NYSE. This<br />
provided the Company with access to the<br />
world’s capital markets, gave it greater<br />
international visibility, and raised the bar<br />
of compliance with global regulatory<br />
standards.<br />
On October 25, 2001, each equity shares<br />
of Rs. 10/- was subdivided into two equity<br />
shares of Rs. 5/- each, pursuant to the<br />
