Chapter 2: Installing ReportNet on UNIX
4. Go to the appropriate directory to copy the JDBC2 driver:
• For version 7.2, on Windows, go to DB2_installation\java12 directory and run the
usejdbc2.bat script.
This copies the JDBC2 driver, db2java.zip, to the DB2_installation/java directory.
• For version 7.2, on UNIX, go to the DB2_installation/java12 directory.
• For version 8, go to the DB2_installation/java directory.
5. Copy the db2java.zip file to the crn_location/webapps/p2pd/WEB-INF/lib directory.
6. Rename the db2java.zip file to db2java.jar.
7. On Windows, restart the DB2 services and the HTML Search Server.
8. On UNIX, for version 7.2, ensure that you include the DB2_installation/java12 directory in
the library path environment variable and that it comes before the DB2_installation/lib
directory.
Update Your Java Environment
Before you can use the cryptographic operations, such as data encryption and key
management, implemented by ReportNet, you must check that the required JAR (Java Archive)
files are present in your Java Runtime Environment (JRE).

1. Check that the following JAR (Java Archive) files exist in the JRE_location/lib/ext:
• sunjce_provider.jar
• US_export_policy.jar
• local_policy.jar
• jce1_2_1.jar
• jcert.jar
• jnet.jar
• jsse.jar
• bcprov-jdk13-113.jar
Tip: An example of the installation location of a Java Runtime Environment is
/directory/java/java_version/jre.
2. If any files are missing, go to crn_location/bin/jre/1.3.1/lib/ext directory and copy the
appropriate JAR files to the JRE_location/lib/ext directory.
After you install ReportNet components on one or more UNIX computers, some configuration
tasks are required so that the ReportNet components work in your reporting environment
(p. 33).
To deploy Cognos content using a third-party portal such as SAP Enterprise Portal, you must
complete additional configuration using the portal tools. For more information, see Cognos
Portal Services Administration Guide. Also, you may have to modify the default property settings
for Cognos Portal Services using Cognos Configuration.
