Appendix A: Context Help Imported Reports Folder Specifies the directory, relative to the ppsroot directory, that is used to store reports published by PowerPlay client applications. If not set, users can’t publish reports. For information about sharing this location among multiple dispatchers, see the installation guide. Temporary Files Location Specifies the directory where the dispatcher and processors create temporary files on an as needed basis. For security purposes, this directory is not Web aliased. Temporary Directory Clean-Up Interval (min) Sets the time interval that the server checks the creation date and time of the files in the temporary directory location. Files that are older than the time limits set by the Temporary File Deletion Interval settings (PowerPlay Web Explorer and PowerPlay Web Viewer) are deleted. Security Dialog Box Prompts you to secure the server when connecting. Administrator Email Address Specifies the email address of the person responsible for responding to user inquiries about PowerPlay Web. The email address is displayed as a mailto: link on the Table of Contents page. Selection of Preferences Allows users to change the language and locale from the Table of Contents page (Preferences tab) in their Web browser. If you set this to Disabled, the Preferences tab is not available in the Table of Contents. Auditing Level Specifies the level of auditing for the server. If you enable auditing, PowerPlay Enterprise Server records information that may help you analyze and troubleshoot problems. The following auditing options are available: Option None Summary Detail Description Records no information. Records server startup and shutdown messages. Records detail on requests made to the server from PowerPlay Web and by the Enterprise Server Administration tool An Auditing Level setting is also available for cubes and reports. Auditing information is recorded in the file ppes_audit.log. Fetch Files Sets the location of the temporary files created by the dispatcher and processors. The default (setting of 0) places temporary files on your Web server. If set to 1, temporary files are placed on the PowerPlay dispatcher computer. You can enable or disable Fetch Files in PowerPlay Enterprise - Server Administration or in the Cognos Configuration Manager. In some customer deployments, it is important for security reasons to ensure that these temporary files are located not on the gateway, but behind a firewall where a dispatcher can access them. Appendix A: Context Help Maximum Restrict Client Connections Specifies the maximum number of dispatcher threads that can be dedicated to a remote client. Restrict Connection Idle Timeout (min) Sets the number of minutes before a dedicated dispatcher thread exits due to a lack of requests from the remote client. Table of Contents Specifies whether users can access the Table of Contents from their Web browsers. Prompt for User Class Audit Log Generator Specifies whether users may be prompted for a user class when they open a cube. If you set this to Disabled (the default), users are not prompted for a user class. If you set this to Enabled, users are prompted only if the cube they are opening has been built with two or more user classes to which they belong. Silent User Class Switch Specifies whether users are notified when they switch to a cube that is associated with a different user class. If you set this to Disabled (the default), users are notified when they switch to a cube that is associated with a different user class. If you set this to Enabled, users are not notified when they switch to a cube that is associated with a different user class. Dynamic Stylesheet Compile Specifies that XSL stylesheets used to generate the Enhanced interface and .XLS (Excel) output are precompiled and stored in memory. This speeds up the response time for these requests. You should always set this to Enabled, unless you are certain that no one will issue requests to the Enhanced interface or for Export to XLS. Fonts Path Specifies the location of fonts on the local computer. Maximum size of each file in kilobytes (kB) Specifies the maximum size of the audit log file before a new file is created. If you restart the PowerPlay Enterprise Server, a new audit log file is created even if the maximum file size has not be reached. Location for audit files Specifies the location where audit log files are saved. PowerPlay Web Explorer Temporary File Deletion Interval (s) Sets the maximum amount of time temporary files will persist before they can be deleted. The server checks for the existence of temporary files with every occurrence of the Temporary Directory Clean-up Interval setting (Options). Alerts Allows users to create an Agent or Notification for a report from their Web browser. If you set this to Disabled, the Alerts button is not available in PowerPlay Web Explorer.
