PowerPlay Enterprise - Server Administration uses a series of icons to represent items on the
server, their status, and access privileges set.
Category Icon Description
Item
A PowerPlay server.
A folder.
A folder with mirror references.
A collection, that is, a folder with a physical directory as a
data source. The contents of a collection are dynamically
updated with the contents of the directory.
A collection with mirror references.
A cube.
A cube with mirror references.
An invalid object. An object is invalid if PowerPlay Enterprise
Server cannot read its configuration file.
A report.
A report with mirror references.
Status
The item is enabled. Processes for cubes and reports are
active.
The item is disabled. Depending on the option selected,
current processes for cubes and reports may continue to run
until completed.
Access
Web (HTTP) access privileges. Users can access the data using
a Web browser.
Windows (sockets) access privileges. User can access the data
from PowerPlay for Windows and PowerPlay for Excel.
Connect to a Server
When you start PowerPlay Enterprise - Server Administration, you are prompted to connect to an
initial PowerPlay server. You can later connect to other PowerPlay servers on your network to
administer more cubes and reports.
