I begin this editorial in
‘unpredictable April’.
Lots of sun and lots of
(much needed)
showers, though
hailstones the size of
marbles are never
needed, especially if you
are outside!
This magazine is one of hello’s and goodbyes!
On Saturday June 2 nd , we will be saying our sad
farewells to David and Kath Batte, as they retire
from their work at the Centre. They have been
a blessing to us all over the last five years and
will be greatly missed.
A farewell service of thanksgiving, open to all,
will take place in the large Chapel for Kath and
David on 2nd June at 10.15am. All are very
welcome to attend the service but lunch will
only be available to guests, staff and volunteers.
You are, however, very welcome to bring a
picnic lunch if you would like to enjoy the
beautiful grounds
(weather permitting of
course!).
We are delighted to
welcome the Revd
Stephen Gendall as our
new Senior Chaplain.
We wish him every
blessing and extend a
warm welcome. Stephen
will introduce himself in
the autumn magazine.
David Podevin, our bookkeeper, is retiring in
May and his replacement, Chris Fincham,
Financial Administrator, will be in post by the
time the magazine goes to print. We wish David
an enjoyable retirement and extend a warm
welcome to Chris, who I hope to introduce
with a photo and article about himself in the
autumn issue of the magazine.

We also said goodbye to Sophia, one of our
cooks, who left in April to take up a new
catering post. We wish her every success in her
new job.

Paul & Olive Deeming introduce themselves,
with a fascinating account of their lives and how
the Lord has led them to the CCHC.
We continue with our ‘Day in the Life’ feature in
which six questions are put to two of our staff.

Our popular Easter Retreat took place in early
April and some of the guests share their
thoughts and reflections on pages 6 & 7.

our Annual
Thanksgiving Day,
a day of great joy
and celebration, when we all
come together to give thanks to
God for His goodness over the
past year. John Ryeland
(pictured) from the Christian
Healing Mission will be
preaching in the morning and
afternoon. Read more on
page 10.

For those of you with computers, our
programme of events/courses etc can be viewed
on our website, www.crowhursthealing.org.uk.
The website is full of information about the
CCHC, giving background history, showing
photographs of the Centre, our programme and
also the opportunity to download current and
previous magazines.
If you would like to read our magazine via the
Internet, please let the office know so that
savings can be made on postage. With the
recent increases in postal charges, any savings
that can be made will benefit the running of the
Centre. As many of you will know, there is no
actual charge for our magazine, but if you are
able to contribute, a donation of £10.00 per
year would help cover printing and postage
costs. Also, if you are in the position to Gift Aid
your donation, this will add another 25p for
every £1 that you give. Details of Gift Aid can be
obtained from the office.
