<strong>Design</strong> Standards and <strong>Guidelines</strong><br />
Points System<br />
Each proposed project is reviewed by<br />
the <strong>Downtown</strong> Advisory Board <strong>Design</strong><br />
Review Committee for adherence to<br />
the <strong>Downtown</strong> <strong>Pleasant</strong> <strong>Grove</strong> Turn of<br />
the 20 th Century <strong>Design</strong> Style<br />
guidelines criteria. Points are awarded<br />
for each design component listed<br />
below according to the committee’s<br />
evaluation of the project, determining<br />
the appropriateness of design of the<br />
proposed project in meeting the<br />
<strong>Downtown</strong> Village <strong>Design</strong> Standards<br />
and <strong>Guidelines</strong>. The standards as<br />
listed in the <strong>City</strong> Code are not<br />
evaluated.<br />
Points are assigned as follows:<br />
+ 2 points: If a project constitutes<br />
an excellent job of<br />
meeting the design<br />
guideline.<br />
+1 point: If a project constitutes a<br />
good job of meeting the<br />
design guidelines.<br />
0 points: If the project constitutes<br />
an adequate job of<br />
meeting the design<br />
guideline.<br />
-1 points: If the project constitutes<br />
an inadequate job of<br />
meeting the design<br />
guideline.<br />
-2 points: If the project<br />
substantially fails to<br />
follow the design<br />
guideline.<br />
Note: Some design elements may<br />
be considered more critical than<br />
others and weighted accordingly, by<br />
using a multiplier valued from 1 to 3<br />
points.<br />
The <strong>Design</strong> Review Committee<br />
should determine in advance of<br />
project review which elements are<br />
to be weighted as well as the value<br />
of the multiplier(s) to be used.<br />
