Memorial Day Weekend's
Indy 50000000
Paramounfs "Indiana lones and the Last
Crusade" catapulted the Memorial Day
weekend to an all-time boxoftlce high, becoming
the highest-grossing film ever for one,
two, three, four and six days of release "Crusade set yet another boxottice record when
it grossed more than $50 million in a single
week. Indy accounted for more than 50".. of
the record-setting $68-million total domestic
gross for the holiday weekend.
Led by "Indy," "Field of Dreams," "K-9"
and "Pet Sematary," domestic theatrical boxoffice
soared to a record high in May The
national gross surged more than 14"., to
$397,8 million on 90,4 million tickets at an
average price of $4,40, up from $347,8 million

Crusade" (2,327 runs in its third week), "Pet
Sematary" (1,097 runs in its seventh week),
and "Major League" (775 runs in its ninth
week).
