Dudley Moore
"Crazy People" Following
a major shakcup, this comedy
now stars Dudley Moore
imder the direction of Tony
Bill (when the cameras first
rolled, John Malkovich starred
with "Good Morning,
Vietnam's" writer Mitch
Markowitz making his directorial
debut). The story is
about an ad exec who happens
to be a former mental
patient, who enlists his fellow
inmates to start a brash
new trend in advertising: telling
the truth! Daryl Hannah,
Mercedes Ruehl, Paul Reiser
and J.T. Walsh co-star. Besides
owning a restaurant together
in Venice, Calif., Bill
and Moore also collaborated
on the soapy "Six Weeks." A
Paramount Pictures release
next winter.
"Enid Is Sleeping" Is it
just us, or are there a lot of
black comedies in the works
lately? This one is aboiU a
man (Judge Reinhold) and
his mistress (Elizabeth Perkins)
who inadvertently kill
his wife, and then engage in a
tumbling attempt to dispose
of the body. Rhea Perlman
("Cheers") also stars. Writerdirector
Maurice Phillips is
shooting the film on location
in Santa Fe, New Mexico A
Vestron release.
"State of Grace" The pugnacious
Sean Penn and the
adventurous Gary Oldman
("Sid and Nancy," "Criminal
Law") star in this street dr.ima
set in New York City's
1 lell's Kitchen. Penn plays an
undercover cop who tries to
break up an Irish gang, and
Oldman plays a gang member
who befriends him. The
film is being directed on location
by Phil Joanou, the
