Secretary’s Report
by Prasad Srinivasan, M.D.
It is a pleasure and privilege for
me to present this report. The
Second Indo-US Summit focused on
the implementation of the
recommendations from the six
disease states and strategic planning.
It was unanimously felt that it is
crucial to have follow up
teleconferences and to start planning
the next year’s Summit. I could not
go with the AAPI delegation with
the Chief Minister Madam Sheila
Dixit as I was co-chairing one of the
disease states at the summit.
However during a subsequent visit I
had the opportunity to meet the
Chief Minister and discuss with her
the importance of having a
representative of AAPI in New
Delhi.
Our Office in Chicago is currently
overworked and short staffed as Ms.
Rama Khatri has been out of the
office for health reasons. Both Ms.
Vijaya Kodali and Mr. Sam
Fulambarker are doing an
outstanding job in keeping up with
the numerous requests and
deadlines.
In a teleconference of the
Standing Committee Chairs, the
various Committees updated the
Officers of the work accomplished
during the year.
I have been a spokesperson for
AAPI at numerous events in India.
I was invited to participate on the
healthcare panel on the First World
Economic Tamil Meet and Diaspora
in Chennai. I highlighted AAPI’s
activities both in India and the
United States. I received a lot of
positive feedback about our
involvement and the externship
program.
I was a consultant at the super
specialty hospital at Puttarparthi,
India. I had the opportunity once
again to speak about
AAPI’s activities in
India and focused on
the work done by
the AAPI charitable clinics.
Prasad Srinivasan, M.D.
Secretary, AAPI
In my address at the 28th
International Congress of NRIs in
New Delhi, the NRIs across the
globe got a bird’s eye view of our
organization, its multiple platforms
and its accomplishments.
I want to thank you for giving me
the opportunity to serve you in the
capacity of Secretary.
