If you answered yes to any of these questions, you may be eligible for RESPITE CARE SERVICES which provides family members and other non-paid caregivers a break from the daily caregiver responsibilities. Services may include Companion Services, Homemaker/Home Health Aides, Medical and Social Adult Day Care, Temporary Out-Of-Home Care/Respite in a Medical Facility, Private Duty Nursing and Camper ship. Page 3 If you worked in 2004 and earned: Federal Credit • $11,490 single, $12,490 if married filing jointly, if there is no qualifying child, and you are between age 25-65, you can receive up to $390.00. • $30,338 single, $31,338 if married filing jointly, if there is one qualifying child, you can receive up to $2,604. • $34,458 single, $35,458 if married filing jointly, if there is more than one qualifying child, you can receive up to $4,300. The Federal Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) can help. The EITC is a refundable Federal tax credit for eligible individuals and families who work and have earned Federal & NJ Recreation Benefits Golden Age Federal Passport Lifetime entrance permit for individuals, 62 or older, to national parks, monuments, historic sites, recreation areas, national wildlife refuges which charge entrance fees. It also provides a 50% discount on federal use fees for facilities and services. (Not including overnight camping or other fees) Applications are made to Administrative Services, Division of Parks & Forestry, NJ Department of Environmental Protection, PO Box 404, Trenton, NJ 08625- 0404, telephone 1-800-843- 6420 or 609-984-0370. Proof of age required. Nutrition Corner Prepared Meals at Sayreville Persons over 60, including their spouse of any age, can get one hot meal per day up to five days a week at the Sayreville Senior Center. Transportation is provided by the South River Senior Center Friday mornings only. Why not schedule a Friday visit? Meals are $2 - 2.50 each. Why not get out of the house? $225.00 Check Home Delivered Meals Nutritious meals for homebound seniors, age 60 and over who must are homebound due to illness, incapacitating disability or isolation. A formal needs assessment is required; however there are no income requirements. Contact the South River Office on Aging or call the Middlesex County Office on Aging at 732-745-3293 before you apply. Proof of age or a County ID is required. 1-888-895-9179 Utility Assistance LIFELINE is a utility assistance program that offers a yearly benefit of $225 to persons 65 and over, and to certain disabled persons who are receiving Social Security disability payments. You qualify if: ♦ You are a NJ resident at least 65 years of age, OR at least 18 years of age and receiving Social Security Disability benefits; ♦ You are single, and your total income is less than $20,989.00 OR, are married, and your joint annual income is less than $25,735.00. ♦ You received utility bills in your name or spouse's name, OR you are a tenant and do not receive utility bills, but the cost of your utilities is included in the rent. This amount will help you to pay for the increased cost of utilities. You must APPLY to get paid!!! For more information, please contact South River Office on Aging to make an appointment.
