My Six Convicts (Col)—Millard Mitchell,
iilbert Roland, John Beal. I expected poor
ly surprise came when they loved it no end
or Its comedy. Played Sun., Mon., Tues.
Jesse James—Long May
He Ride and Rob!
Q,Ki:.\T MISSOURI K.AID. THE (Para)
—Wendell Corey, Macdonald Carry,
Ward Bond. I don't know how many timen
Jes.sc has been shot on our screen while
hanein? that picture, but it atronage.
David and Bathsheba (20th-Fox)—Susan
Hayward, Gregory Peck, Raymond Massey.
My patrons expected something they didn't
see in this one. There were counting on a
picture like "Quo Vadis" or "Samson and
Dellllah" and this one didn't come close.
Business was below average—and, of course,
running true to form. Fox had the film rental
way above average. Too much "talk" and not
enough action. Patrons' comments were poor.
enjoyed this new kind of picture and so did
I. We had not seen the screening and were
uncertain as to the best time to play It but
we were right In scheduling it on Friday and
Saturday. Films with several big name stars
do very well at our boxoffice. Weather: Warm.
