PTT quick start PTT quick start This section helps you to quickly get started and use the PTT function on your phone. Follow the instructions to create contacts, make calls to individuals, predefined groups and ad hoc (informal) groups. Get started 1. Before using the phone, ensure that the SIM card and battery are inserted in the phone. For more details refer “Insert and remove the battery” on page 7. 2. Hold down the Power On key for a couple of seconds to switch on the phone. PTT functions at a glance The following table explains the use of the various PTT related keys present on your XP1 mobile phone. Use PTT key To - Display the contacts list. - Initiate a PTT call. - Bring back to focus a PTT call that is in the background. Use PTT volume PTT menu Menu selection keys (Left and Right) Navigation keys Power On/Off/End call Right arrow key Charger port Headset connector port To - Adjust the volume during a PTT conversation. - Navigate up and down the PTT Contacts list. - Access the PTT functions. - Activate the menu options displayed at the bottom of the screen. - Scroll horizontally or vertically to a desired menu option. - Switch on and switch off the phone. - Return to the home screen when the phone is in use. - End a PTT call. - Increase or decrease the volume during a PTT call. - Charge the battery. - Enable the use of headset phones for a PTT conversation. 15
Registering with the PTT service. 1. Select Menu > PTT to register with the service. Deactivate the PTT service 1. Select Menu > PTT > scroll to Close PTT > OK.The PTT services gets deactivated and the standby screen displays P in red and G in green 2. To again register to the PTT service, select Menu > scroll to and select PTT. The PTT services gets activated and the standby screen will display both P and G in green . PTT settings When registration with the PTT service is successful, P and G are displayed in green at the top left corner of the screen. 1. On the home screen, select Menu > PTT > scroll to Settings. Renders individual settings ineffective. All calls should be manually answered. Shows your online presence to other contacts all the time. Does not show your online presence to contacts. Registering with the PTT service.<br />
1. Select Menu > PTT to register with the service.<br />

Deactivate the PTT service<br />
1. Select Menu > PTT > scroll to Close PTT > OK.The<br />
PTT services gets deactivated and the standby screen<br />
displays P in red and G in green<br />
2. To again register to the PTT service, select Menu ><br />
scroll to and select PTT. The PTT services gets activated<br />
and the standby screen will display both P and G<br />
in green .<br />
