LCD Battery Computer PRO
Based on the proved VOTRONIC LCD Battery Computer, the LCD Battery Computer PRO had been developed. The various
display functions and the high operating convenience have been extended by an illuminated and clear graphical display, a
terminal for control, supervision and warning purposes as well as the possibility to display the voltage of a second battery.
Since the unit is permanently in contact with “its battery”, it records and evaluates any battery action. Any charging and
discharging currents are counted accurately. Battery size, self-discharge, battery load etc. are considered by programmed
characteristic diagrams. Even the smallest leakage current is detected and recorded. The result is a correct indication of the
charging state (of the capacity, which is still available, the residual charge) of the board battery in Ampere-hours (“Ah”) and
as percentage (“%”) in form of a clear level bar, such as it is known from a fuel gauge.
The unit is equipped with a freely programmable terminal for automatic switching of consumers depending on the charging
state of the battery (0-100 %). The on/off switching points can be adjusted freely and independently of each other as
percentage (%) allowing any switching function. At the press of a button, manual control is possible at any time. Example
for application: Automatic protection of the battery against harmful total discharge. The consumers are switched-off exactly
according to charging state, such as below 25 %. EMERGENCY-ON is possible by pressing a key. Consequently, the unit can
also be used as remote-controlled battery main switch (on/off) or for other switching tasks.
A connection cable being ready for connection connects the display and the connection unit (shunt C box, near the battery),
which receives voltage and current. The terminal for connection of signal transmitters or powerful switching relays is located
here. If the LCD Battery Computer PRO is used as total discharge protection and battery main switch, the application of the
switching units VOTRONIC Switch Unit 40 or Switch Unit 100 is recommendable because of the efficiency and the extremely
low current consumption.
The LCD Battery Computer PRO is suitable for any battery type (acid, gel, AGM) with 12 V and 24 V battery voltage and
distinguishes by its low current consumption in idle/illuminated state of only 8/65 mA.
Matching to the VOTRONIC modular system, appearance and mechanics (identical height) of the unit is adapted to the other
display modules, and the small mounting depth of only 18 mm allows an installation at almost any location.
Functions:
a Battery voltage of the board battery “V1” 7 to 32 V (Volts)
Allows drawing conclusions to the battery behaviour in case of variations in load and serves as operational check for
the charger, the solar system, the dynamo etc. Flashing warning signal in case of overvoltage.
b Battery current (+ = charge/- = discharge +/- to max. +/ -2700 A (Amperes, depending on type) control of the discharge
current rates (load) by the consumers, indicated by the sign “-“. Also the charging current rates will be displayed.
They can be identified by the “+” sign.
c Battery capacity “Ah” (residual charge in Ampere-hours) from 0 Ah (empty) to nominal capacity (full), max. 2000 Ah.
d Battery capacity “%” (percentage residual charge) from 0 % (empty) to nominal capacity (full), 100 %.
e Battery voltage “V2” of a 2nd battery, such as a starter battery, 7 to 32 V (Volts)
