17. The Study (Courr€) Material is normally despatched to the students
in two or three instalments. In lespect ofth€ students, who sent

The Vidyapeetha \ras established at Tirupati(A.P) in 196l by
the Go\4. of India on the recommendations of the Cental S@tslsit
Commission as ^ a$o$omous body under the name of "Kendriya
Saiskritvidyapeetha, Tnupati sociev'. Dr. S.Radhalrishnan, the then
Vice President oflndia laid the foundation stone ofthe Vidyapeetha
otr 4th January 1962. The basic objectives of setting up of the
Vidyapeetha is to impart and improve the Sanskit Pedago$/ to
accelerate the place ofhigher Sansk t leaming and to combine the
traditional SaNkrit education $r'ith mod€m scientific research.
Later Keidriya Sanskrit Vidyape€thq Tirupati came uder the
adrninistrative coDtrol of Rashtriya S@$krit S@8rlr@r, at autonomous
body under the Ministry of Education in April 1971. In the year
1987, the Vidyapeetha was decltred s3 a Deemed University
by the Govertrment of Itrdia considering its progress in the past 25
years. It,ir'as formally inaugurated by the then President oflndia Sri
R. Venkataraman on 26th of August 1989. The Vidyapeetha was
given the status of "Cen .e of Poterrtisuor excellence in the subjecl
of Tta.litional Shasbar' in the year 2002-03 by the UGC in
recognition of its contribution in the Feservation & propagetion of
Sastras and Sa'lskit Language and duely accredited ,4+ gade by
the NAAC.it the y esr 2003.
The students ftom differed pafts oflndia are studying various
Sastras as well as modem subjects like Computer Science, Maths,
History etc. in this Univ€'sily. T\e med m of instluction for the
taditional subjects is Sansbit only, which is at rnique feature.

After scrutinising the documents, the Dir€ctorate will crnfirm admission
and issue identity card and assign Euollnent Number to the eligible
caodidates. Student! arc instructed to keeD the Identitv Card in safe
custody till the end ofthe course.
Once the candidate admitted, his/her registration is valid for the entire
period of study, subje{t to the payment of course fees for the respective
year. They need not apply for Registration/Admission every year.

There is no upper age limit for admission to any course other than
Yoga course (restricted to 45 years)
Caodidales ftom all over Irdia will be adnitted without any Entrance
Test provided they fulfill lhe rcquisite qualifying conditions mentioned

Candidates fiom abroad are also eligible for admission to all courses
provided -
a) they fulfill the requisite qualifying conditions prescribed.
b) they funish an address in INDIA for conespondence and
desoatch of studv material & information.
c) RSVP do not entertain any correspondence on foreign address.

The Library is opened fiom 9.00 a.m. to 8.00 p.m. on all workhg

The University has a well eqrJipped Compuler Cerrfie established
with the firancial assistance ofUGC. The efforts are being mad€ to

ard the traditionil scholarc to the compute$ for optimum utilisatiotr.

Acharya course consists of l0 papers in two years which carry 100
marks each. All the papers are related to the opted Sastra only ln the
final year the syllabus o f Paper V is rclatedto the History of particular

they have to undergo training in the syllabus prescribed for that
particular Sastra under a 'guru', who is a master in that subject' He
