43. Vorobyev was born in 1922. During World War II, he
served as a cadet, was promoted to major, and commanded a rifle
battalion. He was awarded the Svechin prize of the Academy of
Military Sciences in 2000 for his series of works on tactics. He is
the author of more than 200 works on tactics and operational art,
and is a professor at the armed force combined arms academy.
